Ruth Allison Lilly was one of the museum’s earliest benefactors, giving generously to The Children’s Museum during her lifetime and through generous bequests. She was among the visionaries who helped establish the museum as a world-class educational and cultural institution. It is through Ruth Allison Lilly’s bequest that the museum was able to establish an endowment securing our future. We invite you to join the Sunburst Society with a bequest or planned gift so that together we can continue bringing light and joy to all who enter the museum. Named after the museum’s iconic Sunburst Window—whose radiant design fills the museum with light—The Sunburst Society reflects the warmth and inspiration that legacy giving brings to future generations.
Members of the Sunburst Society receive:
- An invitation to an exclusive annual recognition event at The Children’s Museum
- Access to behind-the-scenes receptions and other special events
- Updates on upcoming exhibitions and new initiatives
- A personal contact at The Children’s Museum through the Individual Giving office
- Recognition in museum publications (unless the donor requests to remain anonymous)
